Recently I read about Sophie Scholl on Gene Veith's blog. It inspired me to stream the movie from Amazon and watch it with my wife. Excellent film - and it made me reflect on how Christians are tried and tested. Sophie defintely did not have her best life now! And would I be ready for such a testing (only by God's mercy).
Last Sunday at Church, our Adult Bible Study Class studying Romans decided to do our own Lutheran Christian Film Fest of sorts. We are going to have some fun and watch movies that different class members believe are influenced by Lutheran Christianity, or perhaps just provide some fodder for reflection.
So far we are going to view Sophie Scholl and Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal. Apparently Bergman was raised by a pietistic Lutheran pastor and rebelled against his upbringing; however, his films were highly influenced by this upbringing.
If you had a suggestion of a Christian movie or Lutheran film you would suggest we take a look at, what would it be?
